Course Reserves

Faculty may request that materials be placed on course reserve. Before submitting a course reserve request, please consult the Copyright Guidelines for Course Reserves (PDF).

FAQs:

When should a course reserve request be sent?

As early as possible. This guarantees that material will be available for your students at the beginning of the semester or at the desired time.

How many items may be placed on course reserve?

As many as requested. Please note: all material requested for course reserve is subject to copyright and other applicable restrictions. Please see the Copyright Guidelines for Course Reserves (PDF).

How many photocopies may be placed on course reserve?

We place a maximum of three photocopies of a particular item on course reserve. Please see Copyright Guidelines for Course Reserves (PDF).

What if the requested material is not available in the law library?

If the requested material is not available in the Law Library, but is available through one of the University Libraries, the Interlibrary Loan Department can obtain the book and place it on reserve. If no Fordham University Library has the book, faculty members should contact their library liaison for assistance.

What is the course reserve loan period?

The standard course reserve loan period is two hours. Course Reserve material cannot leave the library.
